(It’s actually true, though there’s still bragging involved, it’s not *just* about bragging. There’s a good reason involved.)

Healer’s Quest is a funny, unique RPG where you assume solely the role of a healer. The rest of your party are a bunch of noobs who think they are hot stuff.
The only reason why they’re not dead yet is because you’re here to heal them. They will squabble, pout, troll each other and ultimately lead the whole party to its doom if you let them.
But the game has awesome customization potential. You get various spells during the game - even secret ones - each with a skill tree you can widely customize. Same goes for the equipment. Everything is its gameplay has been carefully crafted so that you can explore various combination of skills/weapons/accessories in order to find overpowered strategies.
Even better, the game expects you to fiddle around with all of its possibilities and find some serious strategies - only to find out 10 combats later that you have to rethink them : there is a constant renewal in encounter design that encourage you to find new skill combos.
The game is chockfull of deliberately stupid humor. The game consistently delivers, while subverting many established RPG tropes. (Even the gameplay’s twist is based around that fact. You’re not the hero, you’re their healer.)
All of the protagonist’s dialogues (and choices) are completely rewritten depending on which Karma you assign to him or her: Good, Evil or Victim.
Like Arcanum, you get a different perk depending on which background you assign to your hero.
It’s really fun, and despite being personnally long-time BFF with that horrible person, Pablo Coma, I can say merely by playing it that Healer’s Quest has been crafted (at the cost of endless hours, days - fuck! - even YEARS) with care, love and thoughtfulness for the players.
It’s a unique RPG with various twists, that constantly reinvents itself by surprising the player with nice little touches at every turn.
Needless to say, I warmly & strongly recommend it.
Edge of Eternity is a Kickstarter-funded Indie Game. It aims to reproduce the feel of classical JRPGs. It aims to reproduce some of the greatest staples of the genre : Active Time Battles, hex grids, strategic yet fast-paced combats, long and dramatic storyline, and larger-than-life characters.
And well, we kinda need you for that last part : we are looking for voice actors for the main cast of the game
The Story So Far :
Coming from the darkest recesses of space, strange metal airships appeared in our skies thirty years ago. We didn’t know what they were, nor what they wanted.
Peaceful at first, they presented us with gifts, small tokens of their incredible technology. They even proposed to share their extraordinary knowledge with us. We, the people of Heryon, welcomed them with open arms.
Little we knew that they were hatching a war against us.
When we learned of their true intention, it was too late. Many lives were lost.
It’s the Consort that took unto his hands to organize our resistance, recruiting people and training them, forming an army capable of facing this terrible foe.
As this war opposing magic and technology grew in intensity, as we were finally beginning to stand a chance against them, a new threat emerged from the battlefield.
The Metal Taint.
The invader had used their most cruel weapon, a horrible sickness that poisons the body, twisting the limbs, warping people into some terrible caricature, half-organic, half-machine.
Forlorn soldier in this gods-forsaken hell, Daryon was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice… Until the day he received a letter from his sister : the Tainthad claimed their mother and she needed him to find a cure.
On that day, Daryon had to make a choice that would change both his life and the fate of our world.
And as he will quickly discover, to choose is to sacrifice.
Daryon :
Male, Age : 22
The young soldier who sacrificed a promising military career for a chance to save his mother from the Metal Taint.
Now a war veteran, Daryon was known as a daredevil, a soldier that would go against all odds to insure the most impossible victories. Gifted with magic, accomplished swordsman, he owed much of his reputation to both his skills and ingenuity. Coming back alone from a suicide mission in enemy territory, he became a hero figure by capturing an officer that would prove capital in reversing the course of the war.
A few weeks after his success, he would receive a letter from his sister : their mother had caught the Metal Taint and needed him. Only by becoming a deserter would he be able to help her.
Eventually, Daryon had to make a choice.
Traits :

Jaded and bitter - A cruel war has taken a toll on Daryon’s morale.
Somewhat Sarcastic - use humor to defuse some situations, as well as his own foul mood

Female, Age : 23
An incredibly skilled magic user on a quest to find a cure for the Metal Taint.
Daryon’s sister Selen is a young prodigy who mastered the power of magic on her own, a feat previously unheard of in the world of Heryon. A strong asset to her Temple, she volunteered to find a cure to the Metal Taint. Impressed by her dedication, the Elders deemed that her abilities would be better used to stop the plague rather than conducting birth ceremonies.
Traits :
She knows what’s going on when no one else does.
Cheerful - She’s on her merry way to save the world, and has no doubt she’ll make it happen.
Calculative and rational - Everything always go her way, simply because she sees to it.
Teasing - She likes to nag people she loves.
Cultured - She knows almost everything, and actively pursues the knowledge she’s missing

Fiercely independent and driven by a relentless thirst for freedom, Aelys is the only known skypirate to have ever defied both the Archelites and the Consort, and lived to tell the tale. Trading in dangerous, forbidden techs as if they were mere baubles, she’s one of the few people thriving in these troubles times. But is gold really all what Aelys is after?

An unbreakable and free spirit.
Self-serving - She waits for no one to take what’s “rightfully” hers. She’s a pirate.
Generous - Often to redistribute a part of it to people who needs it (though she hates to show it)
Independent - Will ignore orders and go her own way, even if it means more danger and more hassle for her.

Casted out by his family, he roamed the world waiting for his bitter end to happen. That’s when he was saved by Eline. But everything has a price, and Ysoris lost two legs and one arm in the process. Now, he lives as a recluse, tinkering with his prosthetics until he’s ready to roam the world again.

Snarky - the only way of coping with his self-loathing is his dark humor

Little is known about Eline. Orphan, hunted down for her strange appearance and demeanour, she is nevertheless the only person capable of healing people from the Taint. Yet, for reasons unknown, she has forgotten everything up to that extraordinary talent.
Tough her tattered attire and own tainted body tells a whole different story, her curious wall-eyes shows an undeniable zest for life.
Traits
A strange blend of deep happiness and melancholy.
Young - and seemingly innocent
Selfless - Eline is ready to sacrifice herself for the well-being of others and she is content with that fact.
Spiritual - Eline is wise and see signs and omens where others can’t, though a tad illuminated.
Sometimes go berzerk - Her curse sometimes take over her body and make her go on a rampage.

Former Temple Grand Priest, founder of the Consort, leader of the resistance against the Archelites, Reynan is all of that and even more. Avatar of the Sacred Crystals, Reynan commands tremendous magical powers, and single-handedly won capital battles against the Archelites. One would think that with so much pressure and responsibilities, Reynan is a stern and ruthless commander. In truth, he’s all the contrary : affable and charming, entirely dedicated to Heryon’s freedom, his inspiring command brings hope to his troops.
Some would say that his charming demeanour can’t be all that natural, especially after the loss of his wife and daughter, but as far as his lieutenants are concerned, he’s doing quite well.
Traits
The shoulders on which rests the fate of Heryon
Fatherly - Good or Bad, Reynan is the epitome of a father figure
He knows better than you - he’s been around more time than you do, and know what’s best… Including what’s good for you and what isn’t. Though he’ll try to nudge you in the right direction at first, he can also proves… very persuasive.
Passionated - his quest to save Heryon is what keeps him alive after the loss of his wife and daughter. He deeply enjoys being a savior and a father-figure for Heryon.

Before he was adopted by one of the Temple’s Elders, Kora grew up as an orphan in the streets of Olympia. Used to a tough life, Kora was extremely defiant at first but thanks to the kind influence and warmth of Aghartos, his foster father, he began opening up to others. Aghartos quickly detected Kora’s potential, whether it was his affinity to magic crystals or his strong physical dispositions, and ordered that he would be trained to become a Templar, an anointed soldier in the highest military branch of the Clergy. Since Aghartos was very old at the time, he asked his friend Reynan to take care of the boy when he would be gone. When the first died, Reynan upheld his promise and took Kora under his wings.
Even if the two were wary of each others at first, they quickly developed a unique bond. Reynan quickly found that the teenager was a trusty confident, a loyal friend and an clever contradictor, while Kora discovered that behind the leader’s overwhelming aura was a solitary man needing companionship. As a homage to Aghartos generous nature and as a tribute to Reynan’s greatness, Kora decided he would be as good of a son to Reynan than Aghartos to him was as a father.
When he became of age, Reynan naturally knighted him and anointed him as one of his personal lieutenants. Kora has assumed his charge with the utmost diligence to this day.

Just and fair - Kora has never forgotten his youth and regularly reminds Reynan of their duty to the people
Determined - Kora will make the world a better place, he must.
Understanding - Though he’s forced to make and enforce (very) tough decisions in these hard times, he strives to stay as humane as possible

General consideration :
- Sample lines must be provided as WAV files, 44100 Hz, Mono and sent to EoeAuditions@gmail.com
- Since we’re a handful of indies, chances are we can’t afford to rent a studio for each and everyone’s recordings (since we’re probably going to hire people all over the world). As such, we can’t stress how important your recording quality will be. You must be able to record lines in a consistent way (no gap in quality or voice from one recording session to another.)
- Most lines will need some proofreading from a native speaker (our writer isn’t) - if one of the line is written in bad english, you can “rewrite” the line to respect the grammar.
- The date, final script and deadlines for the recording aren’t determined yet. For that matter, we will take time before making our final choices. Auditions may last a few weeks, or months : we want to insure we have the best team possible for the job.
- Please provide us with your rates along with your sample lines.
- Improvisation is neither encouraged nor frowned upon (for the audition, at least.)
- “Possible Inspirations” are just that, possible inspiration : we know that Voice Actors often comes up with their own take of a character and we’re perfectly fine with it.
- Feel free to submit as many takes as you want, as often as you want. For the sake of good file management, we’d be thankful if you’d name files this way :

He knows better than you - he’s been around more time than you do, and know what’s best… Including what’s good for you and what isn’t. Though he’ll try to nudge you in the right direction at first, he can also proves… very persuasive.
Passionated - his quest to save Heryon is what keeps him alive after the loss of his wife and daughter. He deeply enjoys being a savior and a father-figure for Heryon.

Male, Age 25
Before he was adopted by one of the Temple’s Elders, Kora grew up as an orphan in the streets of Olympia. Used to a tough life, Kora was extremely defiant at first but thanks to the kind influence and warmth of Aghartos, his foster father, he began opening up to others. Aghartos quickly detected Kora’s potential, whether it was his affinity to magic crystals or his strong physical dispositions, and ordered that he would be trained to become a Templar, an anointed soldier in the highest military branch of the Clergy. Since Aghartos was very old at the time, he asked his friend Reynan to take care of the boy when he would be gone. When the first died, Reynan upheld his promise and took Kora under his wings.
Even if the two were wary of each others at first, they quickly developed a unique bond. Reynan quickly found that the teenager was a trusty confident, a loyal friend and an clever contradictor, while Kora discovered that behind the leader’s overwhelming aura was a solitary man needing companionship. As a homage to Aghartos generous nature and as a tribute to Reynan’s greatness, Kora decided he would be as good of a son to Reynan than Aghartos to him was as a father.
When he became of age, Reynan naturally knighted him and anointed him as one of his personal lieutenants. Kora has assumed his charge with the utmost diligence to this day.

Just and fair - Kora has never forgotten his youth and regularly reminds Reynan of their duty to the people
Determined - Kora will make the world a better place, he must.
Understanding - Though he’s forced to make and enforce (very) tough decisions in these hard times, he strives to stay as humane as possible

- We can avoid civil casualties if we relocate the third district right now, and we would still be able to proceed with the plan without raising any suspicion from the enemy.

(Reassuring Reynan on his dedication)

General consideration :
- Sample lines must be provided as WAV files, 44100 Hz, Mono and sent to EoeAuditions@gmail.com
- Since we’re a handful of indies, chances are we can’t afford to rent a studio for each and everyone’s recordings (since we’re probably going to hire people all over the world). As such, we can’t stress how important your recording quality will be. You must be able to record lines in a consistent way (no gap in quality or voice from one recording session to another.)
- Most lines will need some proofreading from a native speaker (our writer isn’t) - if one of the line is written in bad english, you can “rewrite” the line to respect the grammar.
- The date, final script and deadlines for the recording aren’t determined yet. For that matter, we will take time before making our final choices. Auditions may last a few weeks, or months : we want to insure we have the best team possible for the job.
- Please provide us with your rates along with your sample lines.
- Improvisation is neither encouraged nor frowned upon (for the audition, at least.)
- “Possible Inspirations” are just that, possible inspiration : we know that Voice Actors often comes up with their own take of a character and we’re perfectly fine with it.
- Feel free to submit as many takes as you want, as often as you want. For the sake of good file management, we’d be thankful if you’d name files this way :
“Name of the Character _ Your Name _ Line A _ Take 1”
“Name of the Character _ Your Name _ Line A _ Take 2”
“Name of the Character _ Your Name _ Line B _ Take 1”
etc. Again, no woes will befall your chances if you don’t.
- To the writer’s dismay (and to many others relief) there won’t be any profanity in the script, ever. If you see/read one, it will be accidental and you may freely dismiss it. Heryon’s pantheon still has gods, and occasional characters may curse them, though.
